    Professional liability insurance is not required in every state, but we recommend that independent professionals carry insurance because it further protects you and the host. This provider offers a discounted price and immediate coverage for the our community, regardless of the number of locations or hours you work! The policy covers claims for incidents during coverage, PLUS if the claim is filed after your policy expires. And no membership fee.

    Salon Share Space is a site that connects salon, spa, and barbershop owners to licensed cosmetologists and barbers to fill unused suites and booths on demand.   • Who can rent from Salon Share Space?
    Only Licensed or certified professionals can rent on Salon Share Space. Professionals are vetted and motivated to use the professional guidelines and processes of the Salon Share Space members. Renters are required to watch health and safety protocols and get online certification Renters must watch and complete professional salon/space etiquette standards and verify and agree to operation standards.
  • How much does it cost to rent with Salon Share Space ?
    To help cover the costs of running Salon Share Space, we charge a monthly membership fee based on the number of times you book each month. Paid memberships include access to group discounts for insurance, educational training, shows, vitural communitiy (social media training) and other resources There is a 3% service fee every time a reservation is confirmed to cover processing fees. The amount of the service fee varies and is based on a percentage of the reservation total. Service fees typically range between 7-15% but can be higher or lower depending on the region and reservation.
  • Is the backbar and towel service included in the daily rate?
    Yes! The Host salon will have a basic shampoo, conditioner and clean towels or access to washer and dryer for you to launder your own.
  • Can I speak to the Host Prior to my reservation?
    You may speak to the host via text prior to and after booking. Our customer service can help you with communication.
  • When am I charged for Salon Share Space booking?
    When you make a reservation using the site we request your credit card details. However, your credit card is not charged until your salon, spa, or barbershop Host accepts your reservation (usually within 24 hours).
  • I’d like to rent temporary salon or barbershop space today. Is that an option?
    Yes. But it depends on the Host. In order to help our Hosts better prepare for visiting cosmetologists and barbers, booking requests made Through our website we require at least 24 hours notice. in many cases we may be able to fulfill your same-day request. If you fall into this category, please call our offices and one of our enthusiastic team members will be happy to assist!
  • What are my options for processing customer payments while on the go?
    As a visiting cosmetologist or barber, you are responsible for handling the payments of your customers. Most visiting stylists use or Square (or an alternative) for processing clients’ debit or credit cards.
  • What is the cancellation policy?
    Cancel up to 48 hours before your stay to receive a full refund, minus an 8% fee. If you book within 24 hours and cancel, no refund will be remitted. Service fees are non-refundable. Our bookings are by the day. If the visiting stylist reserves multiple days and decides to leave early after arrival, the days not spent in the salon or barbershop are not refunded. If there is a complaint from either the Host or visiting stylist, notice must be given to us within 4 hours of checkin. ShearShare will mediate when necessary and has the final say in all disputes. A reservation is officially canceled when the visiting stylist completes two actions: (1) Clicks the cancellation button on the confirmation page, which you can find in Reservations > Reservation Details > Cancel (2) Sends an email to us listing your name, date canceling, and the salon Host name and location. Cancellation policies may be superseded by extenuating circumstances or cancellations by us for any other reason permitted under the Terms of Use. Please review these exceptions. For all VIP salon and barbershop rentals cancellation policies vary host to host. Please revert to your reservation confirmation for details.
  • Are background checks performed on Salon Share Space users?
    No. Background checks–either for the visiting cosmetologist/barber or the Host–are at the sole discretion of the user. Salon Share Space is a matching service, much like monster.com or match.com, where we only allow licensed beauty professionals to use the our platform. Once a booking request has been made, our company connects the stylist to the Host to discuss specifics. At that time, each individual is free to go through any additional vetting and/or background checks.
